Cons:

• painted walls need constant cleaning, because dust easily gets into the fine pores of the paint. The glossy surface is more protected from such influences;
• even the most resistant paint does not tolerate prolonged and strong mechanical stress;
• different patterns can be applied to the walls using stencils, but it will be very expensive. And the walls, which are painted in one tone, are quite boring and are more suitable for office space.
   

Liquid wallpaper

Another option for covering walls is liquid wallpaper. They are called decorative plaster. They consist of cellulose fiber, which is a durable and environmentally friendly material. Once applied and cured, they look nothing like traditional paper or vinyl wallpapers. Among them you can find silk, matte or glossy. There are also many patterns  on these wallpapers. You will definitely be able to pick up something interesting for each room. In addition, you will not need to prepare the surface for applying these wallpapers for a long time. They can also be easily washed.

Choosing final method:

Putting up wallpaper is much cheaper and faster than preparing walls for painting, so if you are planning not a major overhaul, but a small one, your best choice will be wallpaper. Moreover, you cannot do without special materials for preparing the walls, and the help of a specialist will be quite expensive. If the walls are even, without defects and mold, then you should choose painting. Wallpaper can be changed once every few years, but if you plan to create a personalized design for a long time, then the walls should be painted.
