Badajoz –is a province in the west of Spain, which is located on the border with Portugal. It is the capital of the town with the same name, founded by the Arabs in the 9th century. People here get up and go to bed early, speak mostly Spanish with a noticeable Portuguese accent and are very proud of their architectural landmarks. Till now in Badajoz are preserved remains of ancient Roman cultural monuments (modern territory of the region was part of the province of Lusitania).

 

Even in the city center there are very few places of entertainment, and most of the restaurants and cafes open only until 6 pm. So we'll have to make efforts if you prefer to dine away from home.
